FLAT ROCK
Flat Rock Art Studio is the labor of love of a couple who wanted to devote their time to creating art after retiring from their busy careers. Our clients envisioned their joint studio as a retreat hidden in a corner of their property and its architectural style in sharp contrast with the elaborate historic Victorian house they call home. The modern design is driven by the site’s constraints as much as by the functional requirements for the two studio spaces -the husband has metal workshop in the basement studio and the wife does fine arts in the studio above.
CorTen steel cladding, exposed framing, large planes of glazing express the visual style of the owners.
